The damage must be reported to your local post office within 7 days of delivery, and promptly to us and Catawiki support. 【Product details】 A full-size Japanese samurai armour made during the early Showa period (1926–1950). This high-quality modern work of decorative armour was produced over approximately six to ten months using traditional armour-making techniques, while incorporating durable materials such as rust-resistant chain mail and strong armour lacing. Its design faithfully follows classical armour from the Edo period. The black-lacquered suji-bachi kabuto features a five-tiered shikoro neck guard laced in dark blue, white and orange, with brass alloy kuwagata horns and a finely carved wooden dragon maedate. It is accompanied by a gold-finished retsusei menpo with a fierce expression and moustache, together with its throat guard. The front of the cuirass is richly decorated with scrolling karakusa patterns, a circular dragon relief and a central maru-ni-chigai takanoha family crest depicting crossed hawk feathers. The elaborate gold-coloured decoration is further enhanced with mother-of-pearl inlay accents. The armour also includes a pair of impressive o-sode shoulder guards, kote armoured sleeves, haidate thigh guards, suneate shin guards and the original cords and waist fittings. A black-lacquered wooden armour box with applied paper labels, a sectional wooden display stand and a feather duster are included. The box may be used as the base when displaying the assembled armour. The armour shows age-related scratches, stains, surface wear, losses to the lacquer and areas of rust, discolouration and corrosion on the metal fittings. Some fittings are loose, and there are chips and losses to parts of the cuirass. The fabrics, lacing and cords show fading, staining, fraying, broken threads and losses. The padded waist cords are torn in places, exposing the inner filling, and some ties are frayed or uneven. The armour box has scratches and stains, including a blue ink cross on the underside.
