A stunning wooden ishô’dansu 衣装箪笥 (cabinet of drawers) in two sections, set with sturdy iron hardware. Fully restored, cleaned, and waxed. Crafted from indigenous kiri 桐 (paulownia) wood and varnished in a sought-after warm brown hue, a colour we like to call ‘golden oak’. The upper section features two full-width drawers, while the lower section comprises two drawers of varying sizes and a hinged door opening to reveal a shelved storage space. A secret lowered open compartment is placed behind the shelf. Adorned with large circular lock plates, paired with gunbai-shaped bail handles set on elongated escutcheons. The sides are equipped with n-shaped pole-carrying handles for easy transport, and to loch the upper part into place.
