Model History: Introduced in 1968, the Seiko Lord Matic line occupied an important position in the brand’s late-1960s collection. It offered more refined finishing and slimmer, more sophisticated movements than Seiko’s standard automatic models while remaining positioned below the prestigious King Seiko and Grand Seiko ranges. Produced in April 1969, this early Lord Matic reference 5606-7050 retains the full “Lord Matic” dial signature used before the abbreviated LM emblem became more common. Its compact cushion-shaped stainless steel case and vertically brushed silver dial are characteristic of Seiko’s increasingly modern design language at the end of the 1960s.
