Ardbeg Supernova 2019 – Committee Release Limited-edition Islay single malt, exclusive to Ardbeg Committee members. Bottled in October 2019, non-chill-filtered, at 53.8% ABV. Matured in ex-bourbon casks, malted to over 100 ppm peat. Nose: rare intensity, peppery, smoky and iodized notes, with a hint of salted-butter caramel. Palate: rich and creamy, earthy peat, eucalyptus, burnt oak, caramel, vanilla, black pepper. Finish: very long, on dry peat smoke and freshly ground black pepper. A characterful, powerful whisky highly.
