This elegant vase features a rounded baluster form decorated with vibrant vertical streams of turquoise blue, ivory, amber, brown, and deep black glazes. Shinkai Kanzan (1912–2011) was one of Kyoto's most celebrated ceramic artists and a leading master of modern Kyo-yaki. Born into the distinguished Seifu Yohei pottery lineage, he studied under Kiyomizu Rokubei V and established an exceptional career spanning more than seven decades.

Shinkai Kanzan（1912–2011）是京都最负盛名的陶艺家之一，也是现代京焼的领先大师。出身于久负盛名的 Seifu Yohei 陶器传承家系，他师从清水六兵衛五世，并开创了跨越七十余年的非凡职业生涯。
