Crafted in solid walnut with graceful cabriole legs and finely carved floral decoration to the crest rail, apron and shoulders. The beautifully shaped double-back and flowing proportions are characteristic of high-quality French cabinetmaking from the second half of the nineteenth century. The sofa retains its upholstered seat, back and armrests in a cream floral damask fabric. The upholstery shows age-related wear, staining and minor imperfections but remains usable, offering the possibility of reupholstery according to the buyer's preference.
