Lot Description
This is an exceptionally rare, fully intact fossil specimen of Yabeinosaurus tenuis, originating from the world-famous Jehol Biota of Western Liaoning, China, widely known as the "Pompeii of the Mesozoic". The skeleton is preserved in an almost perfect dorsal posture, with its skull, vertebral column, four limbs and elongated tail all fully exposed and clearly distinguishable. Delicate bone textures are well retained within the characteristic pale grey-green shale matrix, making this a precious specimen for research into the evolutionary history of early lizards.
Yabeinosaurus tenuis is the most emblematic terrestrial lizard of the Jehol Biota. Its slender torso, elongated pentadactyl limbs and remarkably long tail vividly reconstruct the form of this small lakeside predator that lived 125 million years ago during the Cretaceous Period. The specimen boasts outstanding completeness with all bones naturally articulated, free from artificial splicing or restoration work. It carries immense scientific research value alongside extraordinary aesthetic collectible worth, standing as a top-tier treasure within paleontological fossil collections.
