A Luristan Bronze Spearhead, 2nd to 1st Millennium B.C. Fine Luristan bronze spearhead with a long, elegant leaf-shaped blade, prominent central rib and well-defined edges. The piece retains a beautiful turquoise-green patina with areas of darker encrustation, characteristic of ancient Iranian bronzes. The socket area is clearly formed for hafting. Weapons of this type are emblematic of the skilled metallurgists of the Zagros region and were used both in warfare and as prestige items by the warrior societies of the period.
