A rare Roman billon antoninianus of Emperor Gallienus (ruler of the Gallic Empire from AD 253 to 268). The obverse displays the radiate bust of Gallienus to right, with slight drapery over his shoulders. The legend reads IMP GALLIENVS AVG. The reverse features Diana advancing right, drawing arrow from quiver with her right hand and holding bow in her left; at her feet is the hunting dog springing right. The accompanying legend reads DIANA FELIX. The coin was likely minted in Mediolanum in AD 258-259. Diameter: 2.4cm Weight: 4g Provenance: Ex Cambridgeshire private collection, acquired 1970s.
