Sadly, there are less than 125 cases produced. Its deep saturated ruby/purple color is followed by a sweet nose of smoke, melted licorice, white chocolate, creme de cassis, and kirsch liqueur. Full-bodied and dense, with sweet tannin, copious glycerin and body, and a long, heady, seamless, potent finish, it is a candidate for the Toro of the vintage. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. Broker Jorge Ordonez is heavily involved in this project, which is an attempt to revive high quality wines in Toro, a distinctive viticultural area that was devastated by phylloxera. There are a number of serious wines emerging from Toro, but Numanthia may be the most perfectionist wine of the appellation (although Vega Sicilia’s Pintia and the Campo Elysio from Michel Rolland are among the worthy competitors)."
