This is a £5 banknote from the Bank of England’s Series B. In the collector community, it is commonly referred to as “Helmeted Britannia Blue £5”. It was signed by Chief Cashier L.K. O’Brien. Production occurred between 1957 and 1963; its circulation ended in 1967, after which it was collected and recycled. This note appears to be in pristine condition – no creases or stains. Notes in this condition are valued much higher on the coin collecting market compared to used notes that are still in circulation.
