Netherlands – 10 Gulden 1924 “Zeeuws Meisje”, De Nederlandsche Bank, GU 97481 Dutch 10 Gulden banknote issued by De Nederlandsche Bank, dated “AMSTERDAM 25 OCTOBER 1924”, serial number GU 97481. This type is commonly known as the “Zeeuws Meisje” issue. The two-letter, five-digit serial format and the printed legal text correspond to the Pick P-43b / Mevius 39-2a type. Large-format paper banknote with predominantly blue-grey printing on the obverse and brown-violet ornamentation on the reverse. The obverse carries the inscriptions “DE NEDERLANDSCHE BANK”, “BETAALT AAN TOONDER” and “TIEN GULDEN”, together with a female portrait in traditional costume and denomination numerals in the corners. The reverse features elaborate geometric guilloche decoration, with serial number GU 97481 repeated in the printed design. The reverse also includes the legal warning concerning the counterfeiting and circulation of false banknotes, together with the date of issue. An interwar Dutch banknote distinguished by its large dimensions, detailed engraving and characteristic 1920s De Nederlandsche Bank design. Circulated condition, with several vertical and horizontal folds, including a pronounced central fold, general age toning and surface handling wear. The corners show moderate wear and the margins display normal circulation traces. Printing, inscriptions and serial numbers remain clearly legible.
