At the heart of the ring, Saint Benedict stands, holding the Victory Cross and the book of his monastic Rule. The oval surround bears the engraved inscription: “EIUS IN OBITNRO PRAESENTIA MUNIAMUR” (May we be fortified by his presence at the hour of our death).
