This painting presents an extensive wintry landscape dominated by a cold, silent and deeply evocative atmosphere. The composition guides the eye from a path in the foreground to a small town that appears in the distance, almost fused with the horizon. The bare vegetation, the snow-covered mountains and the cloud-laden sky build a scene of great serenity, in which nature seems to have paused under the stillness of winter.

The path occupies a fundamental position within the work. It starts at the bottom and advances toward the center with a gentle curve, creating a pronounced sense of depth. Its wet and irregular surface is formed by a combination of brown, gray, mauve and whitish tones. On it, small remains of snow, stones, puddles and dark earth zones can be distinguished, suggesting thaw or recent passage of walkers. This variety of nuances brings naturalness to the path and reinforces the feeling of looking at a real, lived and traversed place.

On both sides of the path extends abundant vegetation, though marked by the cold of the season. The trees have practically shed all their leaves and show their bare branches reaching the sky. On the left margin several tall dark trunks appear that act as a natural frame, while on the right the branches form a denser, intertwined mass. Their tones range from black, brown, ochre, gray and some yellowish highlights, creating an expressive contrast with the clarity of the snowy landscape.

Among the trees and shrubs appear small illuminated areas that enrich the landscape. Some touches of yellow, white and orange suggest dry grasses, late leaves or vegetation remnants that still retain some color. These details introduce a subtle sense of life within a primarily cold and subdued environment. In the central area two human figures walking along the path can be distinguished.
