Queen Anne 1707 Silver Shilling – Edinburgh Mint – E Below Bust
Original silver shilling of Queen Anne, dated 1707, struck at the Edinburgh Mint.
The coin bears the distinctive “E” mintmark below Queen Anne’s bust, identifying the Edinburgh issue. The reverse displays the crowned cruciform shields of arms with the date 1707.
An especially interesting issue as 1707 was the year of the Acts of Union, which united the kingdoms of England and Scotland into the Kingdom of Great Britain.
Details:
Queen Anne (1702–1714)
Denomination: Shilling
Date: 1707
Mint: Edinburgh
Mintmark: E below bust

The coin is in circulated condition with age-related wear, marks and toning consistent with a coin over 300 years old. There is a small dark surface mark adjacent to the E mintmark, clearly visible in the photographs.
The date, legends, Edinburgh mintmark and reverse shields remain clearly identifiable.
Ungraded. Please examine all photographs carefully as they form an integral part of the description.
