Classic Swiss vintage wristwatch by Certina, model Vainqueur, reference 40170-2, dating from approximately 1952.

The watch features a beautifully aged cream-silver dial with pronounced natural patina, applied gold-tone Arabic numerals and hour markers, and elegant gold-tone hands. A small seconds sub-dial is positioned at 6 o'clock, giving the watch a characteristic mid-century appearance.

Inside is the Certina Caliber 400, a Swiss mechanical movement with manual winding and 15 jewels. The movement is marked “CERTINA 400 / 15 JEWELS” and features a traditional small-seconds layout. The Cal. 400 is a classic hand-wound movement characteristic of Certina watches from the early 1950s.

The case is signed on the inside with Ref. 40170-2 and serial number 2166890. The reference and serial number are consistent with an early 1950s production date, approximately 1952.

Case diameter: 33 mm excluding the crown.

The watch has a classic round vintage case with a domed acrylic crystal. The case shows visible signs of age and wear consistent with its vintage character. The original-style crown is present.
