This mask is one of the rarest forms made by the Lulua, one of the Congo's most understudied social groups. The forehead and prominent features of this African mask from a powerfully expressive face with scarifications here. The face with protruding and the eyes are coffee bean shaped. 

The Lulua (or Bena-Lulua) are a small, caste-based tribal group living in the Southern Congo, where they migrated in the 18th century. These masks are rarely offered. 

Fair condition, there is an old hole on top of the mask and a line on the back due tribal use.
