Montblanc - Meisterstück LeGrand 146 - 自來水筆
We are presenting at auction a true icon of writing, a timeless symbol of elegance and prestige: the Montblanc Meisterstück LeGrand Fountain Pen (the celebrated 146 model). This instrument, with its generous and authoritative proportions, represents the quintessence of the historic German maison's manufacturing excellence, ideal for those who desire a substantial grip and a writing experience with a classic and profoundly refined charm.
The barrel and cap of the pen are masterfully crafted from Montblanc's famous and unmistakable black precious resin, whose smooth surface provides a warm tactile sensation and deep visual intensity. Creating a magnificent and luxurious contrast with the dark barrel are the refined metal details, embellished with a luminous yellow gold plating. The three iconic engraved decorative bands at the base of the cap and the classic clip enhance the majestic silhouette of the instrument, while the unmistakable white six-pointed star stands proudly on the rounded finial. The characteristic striped transparent ink window is also clearly visible on the barrel, a technical and aesthetic detail typical of this model that allows you to easily and precisely monitor the ink level.
The beating heart of this masterpiece is its superb solid gold nib, which in this specimen features a refined monochromatic gold finish, expertly crafted and enriched by intricate engraved decorations, among which the famous number "4810" stands out. The pen is equipped with the traditional and fascinating piston filling system (integrated piston filler), smoothly operated via the rotating rear blind cap, which guarantees a large ink capacity and restores the authentic ritual of fountain pen writing. The close-up photographs confirm the integrity and cleanliness of the feed and the tip. The word "GERMANY" is regularly engraved on the clip ring, guaranteeing the authenticity of the piece.
The state of preservation of this specimen is to be considered in excellent overall condition. The instrument has clearly been kept and used with great care: the precious resin and the gleaming gold-plated finishes maintain a magnificent shine, mostly showing microscopic and physiological superficial signs (hairlines) due to normal resting. In the name of our customary and strict transparency, we only point out the presence of a small, localized abrasion on the resin of the barrel (a detail clearly highlighted in the specific close-up photograph). This minimal aesthetic imperfection bears witness to the object's history but in no way compromises its solid structural integrity, its overall majesty, or its perfect and fluid mechanical functionality
