Italian Mid-Century Louis XV Style Marquetry Secrétaire Bookcase, 1960s Elegant Italian secrétaire à abattant with glazed display cabinet, dating to the 1960s, in the refined Louis XV revival style. Richly veneered in rosewood, decorated with elaborate geometric diamond-pattern marquetry, contrasting wood stringing and delicate floral inlay across the fall-front cabinet compartment and drawer fronts. The upper section features two glazed doors with arched panels, original glass shelves and delicate decorative etched/painted motifs to the glass. The lower section has a sloping fall-front cabinet, above three drawers with original brass pulls. Raised on four elegant tapered cabriole-style legs, terminating in brass sabots and brass decorated rings (seen on photos). Very good condition with signs of light wear consistent with age and previous use. There is some slightly fade-out color on the front of the right drawer, but minimal. (seen on photos).
