Val Saint Lambert – Set of 6 Crystal Water Goblets – Model "Daudet" – Louis XV Acid-Etched Decoration – Belgium – ca. 1904–1905

A refined and exceptionally rare set of six antique crystal water goblets by the world-renowned Belgian crystal manufacturer Val Saint Lambert, executed in the prestigious Daudet pattern. This elegant service is illustrated in the Val Saint Lambert catalogue of 1904–1905 under the name "Daudet – Gravure Louis XV à l'acide", one of the finest engraved crystal services produced during the Belle Époque.

Each goblet is hand-blown in clear crystal and richly decorated with a remarkably delicate acid-etched Louis XV decoration. The engraving features elegant rocaille scrolls, floral arabesques and the distinctive mythical bird (phoenix/pheasant) that has become the hallmark of the Daudet pattern. The decoration is executed with exceptional precision, creating a refined satin-like contrast against the brilliant crystal.

The graceful baluster stem with faceted knop and the generous bowl make these glasses ideal as water goblets, while their elegant proportions also suit fine wine or other table service. They are equally impressive as decorative display pieces and perfectly complement an early twentieth-century dining service or Parisian interior.

This set belongs to one of Val Saint Lambert's most desirable pre-First World War engraved services and is considerably more difficult to find today as a complete matching group.

The glasses are preserved in very good antique condition, with only light traces of careful use consistent with their age. No chips or cracks were observed. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
