These stamps are brand new old stock from the late Showa to early Heisei era, completely unused and preserved in beautiful vintage condition. These were genuine office equipment used in real Japanese workplaces — banks, government offices, and corporations — rather than decorative or artistic objects. In traditional Japanese business culture, these tiny 6mm stamps played a vital role: when an error was made on official financial ledgers, government documents, or corporate contracts, a standard signature was not used. Instead, a dedicated, miniature name stamp called a "Teisei-in" was required to authorize and verify the correction. Each stamp in this lot features a different Japanese family name carved into the face with classic typography. The 5 additional ordinary hanko included in this lot are everyday personal seals (Mitome-in), added so buyers can directly compare their size, shape, and carving style against the specialized correction seals.
