This is a rare blue-and-white gourd-shaped vase from the Xuande period (1426-1435) of the Ming Dynasty. The vase has a warm, rich glaze, decorated with lotus patterns that also feature flame motifs. The decoration evenly covers the entire body, with exquisite details, a soft glaze, and an elegant, unique shape. The craftsmanship is superb, the painting delicate, the form distinctive, and the workmanship meticulous. The base is inscribed with six characters: “Made in the Xuande period of the Great Ming Dynasty,” the characters being extremely fine. Due to the extreme rarity of Xuande period porcelain, this piece holds even greater value for collectors.
