The sign is entirely made of wood and has a particularly appealing handcrafted construction. The circular panel consists of several individual wooden boards, joined and reinforced on the reverse by two horizontal wooden supports fixed with old nails. The front, lettering, border and skull motif all appear to have been painted by hand, giving the piece the distinctive irregularities and character associated with vernacular industrial and folk signage.
