A pair of Chinese blue and white porcelain plates. China, Qing dynasty (大清), Qianlong period (1735-1796, 乾隆), 18th c., circa 1760. Rare as a pair and in such a good condition! Superbly painted in strong cobalt blue with a wide river, rocky islands with dwellings, pine tree and bamboo. All surrounded by a spear head band. Border extensively decorated in rococo style with flowers, swirls, diaper pattern. Daylight pictures included. Provenance: private collection, Germany. Dimensions: diameter - 23.4 / 23,5 cm; height - 2,8 / 2,7 cm. Weight – 350 / 374 g. Conditions report: one dish with a small chip and single frit to the rim only. Second plate with fritting to the edge and chips to the foot-rim. Both with some use-related scratches to the glaze. Minor firing faults. Strong white light tested. Check pictures for details.
