Vintage Vallauris ceramic vase – France – Mid-Century – Orange – 1950s/60s
A striking vintage ceramic vase from Vallauris, southern France, with a characteristic sculptural shape and distinctive glaze.
The vase has an unusual, almost organic silhouette with a plastically worked handle. The strong contrast between the dark-light speckled, textured surface and the bright orange glaze on the front is particularly attractive.
A decorative object of French ceramic art of the mid-century era, in which Vallauris became an important center of modern and experimental ceramics.
On the underside is the designation “VALLAURIS”.
