正面：لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له / أبو العباس بن أمير المؤمنين / بسم الله ضرب هذا الدرهم بـ[دار الضرب] سنة [التاريخ] / لله الأمر من قبل ومن بعد ويومئذ يفرح المؤمنون بنصر الله。 “There is no god but Allah alone; He has no partner / Abu’l-ʿAbbas, son of the Commander of the Believers / In the name of Allah, this dirham was struck at [mint] in the year [date] / To Allah belongs the command before and after, and on that day the believers shall rejoice in Allah’s victory.”

背面： لله محمد رسول الله المقتدر بالله / محمد رسول الله أرسله بالهدى ودين الحق ليظهره على الدين كله ولو كره المشركون。 “For Allah. Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. al-Muqtadir billah / Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. He sent him with guidance and the true religion to make it prevail over all religions, even if the polytheists abhor it.”

al-Muqtadir ruled the Abbasid Caliphate from Baghdad from 908 to 932 AD, ascending the throne at age 13. His reign saw political instability, economic decline, internal revolts, financial crises, territorial losses, and growing influence from bureaucrats and military leaders. Briefly deposed in 928, he was restored and killed in battle against a faction led by his rival, al-Qahir, in 932 AD.
