Absolutely Amazing Vintage Kenneth J Lane
Maltese Cross Brooch/ Pendant. This stunning, brilliant brooch done in an 18Kt. triple plated gold tone setting showcases a large cushion cut Swarovski sapphire crystal in the center, surrounded by an array of various shapes of clear sparkling crystals.
Never been worn - As NEW!
It has four faceted emerald green crystals and four simulated pearls. This outstanding brooch is well known as being one of KJL's most famous designs.
Measurements: 6.5cm Long X 6.5cm Wide.
It’s in pristine condition and signed KJL on the back. This is a couture piece and is no longer being produced, and with KJL passing has become even more highly collectible.
It comes with its original KJL gift box, COA (Certificate of Authenticity), KJL Flannel Bag and Information Card.

Lane started designing jewelry and launched his business in 1963 while producing bejeweled footwear for Dior and Arnold Scaasi. He first came to public attention after Jo Hughes, a fashion industry insider, showed some of his designs to Wallis Simpson Wallis, the Duchess of Windsor, who bought several pieces and recommended him to her friends. As both costume jewelry and [society reporting] were popular at the time, press reports of this incident launched Lane's business. His talent at copying high end jewelry from a quick glimpse proved popular, his clients who were and still are among famous celebrities proudly wearing the faux pieces.
Before long, Bonwit Teller, Henri Bender and Saks Fifth Avenue were selling his pieces to such clients such as Jackie B Kennedy, Princess Diana, Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn, and among so many more.
