Title:
WWII Soviet Officer Berlin Assault Group Lot - 10 Original Items with Named Archival Provenance (Lt. Gavryushev)
Description:
An exceptional, historically verified estate lot belonging to a Soviet WWII frontline hero — Lieutenant Vasily Ivanovich Gavryushev (born 1923).
Lt. Gavryushev served in the 400th Rifle Regiment (89th Rifle Division) and later the 301st Rifle Division (1st Belorussian Front). The lot comes with digital copies of his official archival military records and an incredible combat citation.
According to his original 1945 Recommendation for the Order of the Red Star (included in digital print format):
On April 30, 1945, during heavy urban street fighting for the city of Berlin, Lt. Gavryushev led a specialized assault group. Through a bold tactical maneuver, his group successfully captured a vital railway line. Lt. Gavryushev personally eliminated enemy firing positions and killed 3 German soldiers. On May 1, 1945, while fiercely repelling fierce enemy counter-attacks with his platoon, he was wounded and evacuated to the hospital.
The 10-Item Collection Includes:
1. Original Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945" – Established in 1945. Features the profile of Joseph Stalin. This is the exact medal seen on the Officer's chest in the vintage photo. Comes on its authentic ribbon and pentagonal mount.
2. Authentic Vintage Photo of Lt. Gavryushev – Late 1940s original photograph. Shows the young Lieutenant in uniform wearing his wartime awards (including the Victory over Germany medal and an Order).
3. Vintage Soviet Metal Cigarette Case "Leningrad" – Mid-20th century. Detailed embossed relief of the Admiralty building. A classic personal attribute of a Soviet veteran officer.
4. Soviet Tank Forces Proficiency Badge – "Specialist 2nd Class" featuring a silhouette of a Soviet tank.
5. Original Military ID Booklet (Удостоверение) – Official document issued by the Ministry of Defence of the USSR for the proficiency badge.
6. "Frontovik 1941-1945" (WWII Frontline Combat Veteran) Badge – Official prestigious badge issued exclusively to actual combat veterans. Comes in its original factory box.
7. 20 Years of Victory over Germany Jubilee Medal (1965) – With original ribbon.
8. 30 Years of Victory over Germany Jubilee Medal (1975) – With original ribbon.
9. 40 Years of Victory over Germany Jubilee Medal (1985) – With original ribbon.
10. Soviet Red Army Cap Star Badge – Iconic red enamel star with sickle and hammer.
