A silver 1 Rouble coin of the Russian Empire, issued in 1898 during the reign of Emperor Nicholas II.

This example was struck in 1898 at the Brussels Mint under an official order of the Russian Imperial government, as part of the large-scale foreign production of Russian silver coinage during the monetary reforms of the late 19th century. The Brussels issue is identified by the characteristic double-star ★★ edge marking.

The coin retains good overall detail, especially on the imperial eagle, crowns, shields and legends. The portrait remains clearly defined, with visible circulation wear and surface marks consistent with age and use.
