Sign (18) - Vintage Polish Civil Defence Medical Point Direction Signs — Painted Metal — Poland (PRL), 1970s–1980s
A striking large lot of original vintage Polish civil defence ("Obrona Cywilna") signage, hand-lettered on painted sheet metal, used to mark out and direct traffic and casualties around a field medical/triage point during Cold War-era civil defence exercises. A rare and highly decorative set with genuine period graphics — the bold yellow ground and red cross medical emblem make an immediate visual statement.
Features:
- Department signs (5): Bold black lettering on yellow ground with red cross emblem, reading "ODDZIAŁ OPERACYJNO-OPATRUNKOWY" (Operating & Dressing Ward), "IZOLATOR" (Isolation Ward), "ODDZIAŁ EWAKUACYJNY" (Evacuation Ward), "ODDZIAŁ SEGREGACYJNY" (Triage/Sorting Ward), and "KOMENDA" (Command Post)
- Directional arrow signs (8): Arrow-shaped yellow metal signs with red cross medical emblem, used to direct casualties/personnel toward the medical point
- Red cross plaque (1): Square yellow plaque with plain red cross medical emblem, no text
- Road/traffic signs (4): Blue circular "one-way" directional sign, red circular "no entry" sign, red/white "STOP" sign, and blue "P" parking sign — likely used to control vehicle routing around the site
- Material: Painted sheet metal, all pieces predrilled for wall/post mounting
- Style: Cold War-era Polish civil defence (Obrona Cywilna) signage, genuine period pieces
- Condition: Good vintage condition throughout — natural paint wear, scratches and edge chipping consistent with genuine field/depot use (see photos); mounting holes present on all pieces
- Origin: Poland (PRL)
- Period: 1970s–1980s
An exceptional and rare find for collectors of Cold War militaria, civil defence history, or PRL-era graphic design — equally impressive displayed as a full wall installation or used as individual accent pieces in an industrial, military or retro-styled interior.
Specifications:
- Quantity: 18 pieces (sold as one lot)
- Dimensions: Various
- Materials: Painted metal
- Condition: Good — used with age-related wear
- Era: 1950-2000 | Period: 1970s–1980s
- Origin: Poland (PRL)
Shipping: Item will be sent via registered and tracked courier.
