This is a Japanese-made Otafuku (お多福) mask, carved from a single piece of solid wood and handcrafted in 1981 (Showa 56). The date is handwritten on the back. Otafuku is a classic Japanese auspicious mask, featuring a round, smiling face symbolizing good fortune and abundance, often used in home decoration for blessings. The mask is carved from a single piece of solid wood with clear, natural wood grain. It comes with its original woven hanging cord and can be hung directly. Due to its age, there are normal scratches on the face and some chipping on the side. The actual condition is shown in the photos; there are no large, through-cracks.
