Obsidian Baroque Necklace ornated with an imposing Crucifix.
Soul Power and Divine Protection

This necklace bears a baroque crucifix enhanced with acanthus scrollwork and the titulus INRI, a powerful symbol of divine blessing, redemption and spiritual shield, mounted on black obsidian beads.

Heralding the great devotion crucifixes of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, this jewel embodies the central mystery of Christianity: the gift of self that overcomes death to offer universal grace. The Christ in high relief, arms outstretched to welcome humanity, is halos of glory. At the crossing of branches, stylized grape clusters recall the sacred vine, emblem of spiritual abundance and eternal life.

The ends of the cross unfold into acanthus volutes and artistic florets, giving the piece a solemnity worthy of church treasures. This filigree work contrasts with the polished darkness of the obsidian beads, volcanic stone revered for its ability to neutralize external turmoil and preserve the serenity of the inner sanctuary.

Worn close to the body, this crucifix conveys to its holder a deep peace and continual heavenly guard. It reminds at every moment of the primacy of light over shadows, strengthens the will in moments of doubt, and guides each step with dignity, fervor and confidence.

The Body of Christ and the Celestial Halo: The Triumph of Redemption
Represented with serenity and majesty, the crucified Christ transcends earthly trial. The circular halo around his head recalls that the Passion is an immediate spiritual victory, an opening toward divine light. This motif provides a source of moral strength and protection for the believer.

The Eucharistic Clusters and the Acanthus Scrolls: The Eternal Vine
The vegetal ornaments at the heart of the cross recall the biblical symbolism of the vine (“I am the true vine”). Coupled with the baroque acanthus leaves — symbols of immortality and resurrection — these sculpted details evoke the constant renewal of energies and spiritual fertility.

The Titulus INRI: The Anchor of Truth
Over the Savior’s head, the vertical cartouche bearing the letters INRI (Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum) asserts the sovereignty of the spirit over material contingencies. In popular Christian tradition, this inscription acts as a blessing that consecrates the space and repels malevolent influences.

Black Obsidian: The Guardian of the Heart
Telluric glass born from magma depths, black obsidian traditionally accompanies sacred objects for its austere purity. It is reputed to absorb the heaviness of the surrounding world and preserve inner peace, creating a discreet barrier that highlights the glow of the crucifix.
