As this transaction is conducted through Catawiki, the platform's IOSS system will be applied for auctions under €150. If the item value is €150 or less, European buyers will pay the local VAT directly to Catawiki at checkout, meaning you only need to pay a €3 flat customs duty and minor carrier handling fees upon delivery. For auctions exceeding €150, the IOSS system does not apply, and the buyer is entirely responsible for paying all standard import customs duties, local VAT, and customs clearance fees directly to the courier or customs authorities upon delivery. Please respond immediately to any notifications from customs or the courier, as delayed communication can cause the package to be returned or destroyed. Most importantly, please be aware that if a package is held or delayed at customs, customs authorities or the courier may not contact the buyer at all, and the exact reason for the hold will not be displayed on the tracking status. Please note that while the seller also monitors the tracking status, the seller does not receive any direct notifications or details regarding customs holds, as the legal responsibility for tax payment lies solely with the buyer. Therefore, it is critical that you closely monitor your tracking number yourself rather than waiting for a notification or expecting the seller to handle destination customs. If you notice any unusual delays or a "held in customs" status, please do not leave it unaddressed; you must proactively contact your local customs office or the courier company yourself to resolve the issue. If additional official documentation from the seller is required by customs, I will cooperate to the best of my ability, but most customs holds can be resolved simply by the buyer providing Catawiki's purchase invoice. The seller cannot intervene directly in the destination country's customs procedures.
