Antique Porcelain Shoe with Two Kissing Cherubs
An elegant decorative porcelain sculpture in the form of a high-heeled shoe, featuring two embracing winged cherubs surrounded by applied floral decorations.
Manufactured by Rauenstein Porcelain, Thuringia Germany (1783 - 1929).
Rauenstein Porcelain closed its doors in 1929, so the piece is at least 100 years old. I estimate that it was produced during the early stages of opening the factory, probably 1800-1850.
Details:
* Object: Decorative porcelain shoe with cherub figures.
* Manufacturer: Rauenstein Porcelain
* Country of origin: Germany.
* Specific Region of Origin : Thuringia
* Period: Early 19th century.
* Style: Rococo Revival / Meissen-inspired
* Material: Glazed porcelain
* Technique: Moulded and hand-decorated porcelain
Condition:
Excellent antique condition, very well preserved considering its age.
Minor age-related wear may be present.
Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
