Item Description A hand-woven bamboo flower basket (hanakago) used for tea flowers in a tea room. Flat bamboo strips are woven in a arrow-feather (herringbone) pattern, resulting in a sculptural form with a pointed tip and a gentle twist. The corners are secured with light-coloured rattan. Inside the basket sits a black insert container for holding water and flowers. A small rattan loop on the side allows it to be hung and displayed. The warm golden hue of the bamboo and the rhythmic, open weave make this a striking decorative object in its own right. It pairs beautifully with tea ceremony settings, ikebana arrangements, and minimalist interiors. Dimensions Height: 13 cm Width: 18.5 cm Depth: 12 cm Weight 91 g Condition Purchased new and never used. The bamboo and rattan fastenings are clean and show no signs of damage.
