賣家描述
Vintage Portuguese decorative set comprising two monumental floor urns and two matching shallow bowls. Handmade from copper with brass-coloured rims and bases.
The pieces retain their original “Mocarte – Made in Portugal”, “Hecho a mano” and vintage El Corte Inglés labels, including original prices in Spanish pesetas. The set is believed to date from approximately the 1980s.
The previous owners applied small amounts of hot-melt glue to secure the bowls to the tops of the urns. The glue is already lifting and should be removable by gently warming it with a hairdryer on a low setting, then carefully peeling it away using a plastic scraper or card. Any remaining residue may be treated with a little isopropyl alcohol after testing an inconspicuous area first. Removal will be left to the buyer to avoid damaging the original finish.
Condition: Good vintage condition with natural patina, oxidation, scratches, surface marks and discolouration consistent with age and approximately 40 years of storage. There is wear and glue residue around the rims. No restoration has been undertaken, and the original labels have been preserved. Please examine all photographs carefully.
* Age: Approximately 1980s
* Material: Copper and brass
* Origin: Portugal
* Colours: Copper, dark brown and gold
* Number of objects: Four
* Two urns: approximately 66 cm high × 41 cm diameter each
* Two bowls: approximately 38 cm diameter × 10 cm high each
Measurements are approximate. Due to the size and weight of the set, professional packing or collection is recommended.
Acquired as part of the contents of an antique-filled home belonging to a Chinese family. The pieces had reportedly been stored for approximately 40 years in a private storage room alongside numerous antiques, decorative objects and other family treasures passed down through generations. This describes their ownership history; the surviving labels clearly identify the pieces as handmade in Portugal.
