An attractive early 20th-century English sterling silver vesta case by Constantine & Floyd Ltd, hallmarked Birmingham, 1914. Of rectangular form with softly rounded edges, the case is richly decorated on both sides with finely engraved scrolling foliage. The front features a vacant shield-shaped cartouche, while the reverse is entirely covered with elaborate foliate engraving. Fitted with a hinged lid, suspension ring and integral match striker along the base. The interior retains partly preserved original gilding. Fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Birmingham, 1914, with the maker's mark of Constantine & Floyd Ltd. Very good antique condition, with no dents. Minor surface scratches and signs of age consistent with use. The engraved decoration remains crisp and well defined.
