Original CONTAX RTS Body – A Timeless Companion for Deliberate Film Photography The original CONTAX RTS invites you to slow down, look carefully and make each frame your own. Released in November 1975 and developed jointly by Yashica and Carl Zeiss, it remains an appealing camera for those drawn to the character and operation of classic 35mm SLRs. Aperture-priority automatic exposure lets you concentrate on composition while choosing the depth of field you want. Manual exposure provides a more hands-on approach when you prefer to set both aperture and shutter speed yourself. TTL centre-weighted metering and an electronically controlled shutter support both ways of working. With its Contax/Yashica bayonet mount, this body can be paired with a compatible lens to suit your preferred subjects. It is offered without a lens, making it particularly suitable for someone who already owns C/Y lenses or wishes to choose a lens separately. The camera is fully operational, including its exposure meter, shutter speeds, self-timer and frame counter. There are small dust particles in the viewfinder and minor exterior scratches consistent with age and use. The shutter curtains remain in good condition. Whether added to a classic CONTAX collection or selected for a personal film photography project, this first-generation RTS offers the pleasure of working with a camera from an important period in the brand’s history.
