The basin is meticulously carved from a single piece of genuine Nero Portoro marble, historically quarried in the Liguria region of Italy. Renowned for its deep, intense midnight-black background, this specimen features an exceptionally vibrant and dramatic network of natural golden-yellow and milky-white calcite veins. The surface retains a high-gloss, mirror-like polish that brilliantly catches the light.

The Details & Craftsmanship
The heavy circular tray is supported by three beautiful, highly detailed gilt bronze (ormolu) or brass feet shaped into classic lion’s paw motifs with acanthus leaf accents. The construction on the reverse side is traditional and robust, utilizing vintage flush-mount structural flathead screws and metal brackets, highlighting its authentic mid-to-late 20th-century or earlier craftsmanship.
