CANON Datematic – serviced. • Serviced before listing: lens cleaned internally, light seals (foam) replaced, viewfinder cleaned internally. • Condition: Excellent – no known issues. About this camera The Canon Datematic of 1974 was Canon's first camera with a built-in date imprinting function, stamping the year, month and day onto the film through a small window in the back. It is a compact rangefinder with a Canon 40mm f/2.8 lens, programmed automatic exposure driven by a CdS meter, and a self-timer, aimed at families who wanted their snapshots dated without fuss. Today it is an unusual and pleasant everyday shooter from the golden age of Japanese compact rangefinders. Functional The camera powers on, the shutter fires and the automatic exposure works.
