Halite Crystals on Wood – Solno Mine, Inowrocław, Poland
A fascinating and unusual mineral specimen featuring halite (rock salt) crystals grown directly on a piece of wood originating from the shaft lining of the historic Solno Salt Mine in Inowrocław, Poland.
The specimen is a remarkable geological and mining relic, combining natural salt crystal formation with a fragment of the mine’s original wooden structure. The Solno Mine was closed in 1986, giving this piece additional historical and collector’s value.
The photographs show the specimen in normal light, as well as under ultraviolet illumination at two different wavelengths:
310 nm UV: orange fluorescence.
365 nm UV: pink fluorescence.
An intriguing addition to any mineral, fluorescence, or mining-history collection, this specimen preserves a small piece of Poland’s industrial and geological heritage.
This specimen comes from a reputable source and has not been altered or treated in any way—what you see is its natural form. The photos are taken under daylight-equivalent LED lighting to show the specimen as accurately as possible. Please note: some colors can be difficult to capture accurately in photographs. I do my best to present the specimen faithfully.
All items are professionally packed and shipped with tracking. I have many years of experience in international mineral sales and strive to provide accurate descriptions and high-quality service. Feel free to reach out with any questions—I'm happy to help.
