This handmade Moroccan Azilal rug is crafted from 100% wool through a gradual, hands-on process. The wool yarn is prepared and the colours are selected before the artisan begins building the composition by hand. A warm beige ground provides the backdrop for irregular black shapes and scattered motifs, with small magenta details and orange accents along the edge. The pattern takes shape section by section as the artisan works the contrasting forms into the wool, creating a distinctive design with a lively, graphic character. Once the weaving is complete, the edges and fringes are finished by hand. The rug is then checked and prepared for its new home. Small variations in the pattern and weave are natural in handmade work and give each piece its own character.
