This handmade Moroccan Boujaad rug is crafted from 100% wool through a patient, hands-on process. First, the wool yarn is prepared and the colours are selected. The artisan then plans the placement of the larger shapes and smaller details before building the design by hand. The rug’s rich purple field is accented with bold orange vertical forms, followed by smaller geometric motifs in green, red and cream. Each section is worked into the wool gradually, bringing the contrasting shapes together into a lively, expressive composition. Once the weaving is complete, the edges and fringes are finished by hand, and the rug is checked before it is ready for its new home.
