This handmade Moroccan Boujaad rug is crafted from 100% wool through a careful, step-by-step process. The wool yarn is prepared and the colours are selected first. The artisan then plans the main blocks, lines and contrasting details that give the rug its distinctive composition. The design is built by hand, section by section. Deep black and warm burnt-orange areas create a bold framework, while ochre, green and cream bring contrast and balance. A striking checked band crosses the centre, with long, textured vertical forms below it. As the weaving progresses, these separate elements come together into a lively geometric design.
