On offer is a well-crafted, Scandinavian MCM, solid teak wood serving tray, It was designed by the illustrious Jens H Quistgaard for Dansk International and made in Thailand in the early 1970s. The piece is beautifully constructed with built-in, rail style / pegged handles to resemble a ship’s pegged galley rail. It is a classic, sturdy teak ‘Captain’s Tray’ — sometimes called a ‘Butler’s Tray’. The piece is made of Grade A teak wood: a premium, tropical hardwood prized for its exceptional durability, dense straight grain, and high natural oil content. It has a warm golden-reddish-brown colour, rich wood grain, smooth texture, and is resistant to water. The tray is a fine example of Scandinavian design excellence, with its functional, organic, and minimalist aesthetic.
DIMENSIONS: The tray measures 45.5 cm x 35.5 cm x 4.5 cm.
CONDITION: The tray is in excellent condition, with a silky, warm, aged patina.
