KAWAGUCHI BUNZAEMON: A Japanese Cloisonné Enamel Presentation Vase, the body of tapered form resting on a broad, splayed foot and rising to a knopped neck with stepped mouth, decorated in gold and silver wire on the light grey ground with a panel of a flower cart filled with chrysanthemum, the reverse with a Ho-o bird with spread wings, the foot and neck with kiri leaves and tendrils, the neck with a sixteen-petal Kiku-mon rectangular seal chased to base Aichi-ken Nagoya Kawaguchi Bunzaemon sei, height 37cms, Meiji Period.The vase is in very good condition for its age. It has small signs of use and minimal old repair mainly on the upper part. Please look carefully at the photos. they show the actual condition of the item.
