Etruscan 陶器 三叶草口的酒壶,15 x 10 厘米
Elegant Etruscan oinochoe made of black terracotta (bucchero nero) with a ribbon handle extending from the rim to the shoulder, a disc-shaped foot, and a clover-shaped mouth. The belly is decorated with incised vertical lines across the entire surface.
Buccheros is the technical name for a type of black pottery typical of Etruscan civilization. It is believed that the first examples were created in the early 7th century BC in the settlement of Cerveteri. The manufacturing process required kilns capable of withstanding temperatures of 900°C and 1050°C, which, after initial firing by “carbonation,” gave the pottery a blackish-gray color, which was then polished to a metallic sheen.
