A beautiful bronze alloy buckle, inlaid with glass. With an articulating ring prong, and a panel with a separate backing for the terminal tip of the belt strap to attach to via riveting holes pierced through the panels. A raised bezel is welded to the frontside. The circular piece has a bronze cross-shaped square at the with concentric circles on the center and with four cabochons of inlaid glass in white and blue hues. The craftsmanship is exquisite, and well preserved. The piece is catalogued as Merovingian ( Migration Period ) but due its typology it can also be Visigothic. Dimensions: 7,20 x 3,30 cm.
