Previous owner's gift inscription and date on front free endpaper - dated 1877. Date of publication also suggested by the Bodleian Library as no later than 1878.
Hardback dark red cloth with gilt title box, plus embossed black borders and decorations. Covers in very good condition. Slight water mark to the top of the rear board. Signature to front end paper with offsetting to title page, occasional spots of foxing - overall very good. Conforms to OCLC 62577904.
