[免运费] Hagi Ware 大花瓶,双色镶嵌设计——展现精致的日本美学 - 陶瓷 - 大野誠二 Ōno Seiji (1948-2020) - 日本 - 1900-2000

Item Description: This exceptional large jar is a masterwork by Ōno Seiji 大野誠二 (Ohno Seiji, 1948-2020), a distinguished master of Hagi ware from Taisēgama kiln. The jar showcases the remarkable technique of two-color inlay (nishoku zōgan), a sophisticated decorative method that demonstrates Ono's technical virtuosity and artistic vision. The vessel features a commanding presence with its substantial form and distinctive aesthetic. The surface displays the characteristic qualities of Hagi ware - the soft, warm clay body with natural variations in tone and texture. The two-color inlay technique creates striking visual contrasts through carefully applied decorative patterns, where different colored clays are inlaid into the surface before firing, resulting in a rich interplay of hues that exemplifies the refined sophistication of contemporary Hagi ceramics. Ono Seiji was a member of the Japan Kōgei Association and established his Taisēgama kiln in Misumi-chō (now Nagato City), Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1976. Throughout his distinguished career, he received numerous prestigious awards including prizes from the Traditional Kōgei New Works Exhibition and selections for the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition. His works represent the continuation and evolution of the 400-year tradition of Hagi ware, where, as the saying goes, "First Hagi, second Raku, third Karatsu." This jar exemplifies the artist's mature period, displaying both technical mastery and aesthetic refinement. The piece comes with its original signed wooden box (tomobako), confirming its authenticity and provenance. It represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a significant work by this accomplished artist whose pieces are increasingly sought after by collectors of contemporary Japanese ceramics. The condition is excellent, with no significant damage, showing only minor signs consistent with age and careful handling. This substantial jar would make a distinguished addition to any collection of Japanese ceramics or serve as a magnificent display piece. Size Height: 32 cm Width: 36 cm Depth: 36 cm Condition Excellent condition with no significant damage. Minor signs of age and handling consistent with a vintage ceramic piece.
